In spiritual and philosophical contexts, particularly in Advaita Vedanta, "Triputi" refers to the triad or trio of elements involved in any experience or act of perception. The concept highlights the interconnectedness and interdependence of these three components:

  1. Pramata (Knower): The subject or the one who knows or perceives. This is the individual consciousness or the observer.

  2. Prameya (Known): The object or that which is known or perceived. This is the external world or the object of perception.

  3. Pramana (Means of Knowledge): The means or instrument through which knowledge or perception occurs. This includes the senses, mind, and intellect.

In the state of non-dual awareness, as emphasized in Advaita Vedanta, the distinctions between these three dissolve, leading to the realization of oneness or unity beyond the apparent dualities. The concept of Triputi is used to illustrate how perception and knowledge are structured and how they can be transcended in the pursuit of spiritual enlightenment.
