TLDR

No one is going to value you more than you value you

Set a high personal hourly rate, and stick to it

Another way to think about this: If you can outsource something—or not do something—for less than your hourly rate, outsource it or don’t do it.

Set a very high aspirational hourly rate for yourself, and stick to it. It should seem and feel absurdly high. If it doesn’t, it’s not high enough. Whatever you pick, my advice is to raise it.

Personal

  1. The highest I have been able to charge per hour has been 60k per hour. It was for a growth consulting for a company in niche modular kitchens.
    1. 30 mins session on alternative days.
    2. 12 sessions per month.
    3. I charged 3 lakhs per month.
    4. So 3 laksh for 6 hours.
  2. Highest charged till now 50k INR per hour.

Caveats

Today (Jan 21st, 2023) it might seem weird to do this. Not asking you to quit that job. You can do this even when you are in a job and see what is valuable and not. If you really think long term I think nothing can beat starting on your own. I am currently taking a break right now. I have always assumed that I will start working on Learning Paths by now. But my conviction is not yet there. So I am also trying to figure out what next, before I close on this break.
