अर्जुन उवाच एवं सततयुक्ताये भक्तास्त्वां पर्युपासते। ये चाप्यक्षरमव्यक्तं तेषां के योगवित्तमाः॥ १२.१॥

English Translation: Arjuna said: Those ever-steadfast devotees who thus worship You, and also those who worship the eternal unmanifested Brahman, which of them are more knowledgeable in yoga?

1. एवं (evam): thus, in this way
2. सतत-युक्ताये (satata-yuktaye): to those who are always engaged (सतत: always, continually; युक्त: engaged)
3. भक्तास् (bhaktas): devotees
4. त्वाम् (tvam): You (referring to Lord Krishna)
5. पर्युपासते (paryupasate): they worship
6. ये (ye): who
7. च (cha): and
8. अप्य् (api): also
9. अक्षरम् (aksharam): imperishable, indestructible
10. अव्यक्तम् (avyaktam): unmanifest, not visible or knowable
11. तेषां (tesham): of them
12. के (ke): who
13. योग-वित्तमाः (yoga-vittamah): most knowledgeable in yoga (योग: yoga; वित्तमाः: most knowledgeable)
