the real world is full of inputs and chaos. there is so much data, there is so much activity, there are so many dependencies. so it becomes almost impossible comprehend the real world. let alone comprehend even make sense of it. but sense making is very critical to we humans. this is where curious minds come in. they observe things, they ask why, the see patterns, they create formulae, they talk to people, they list their assumptions, share these assumptions with other curious people, they get it validated, if their assumptions fail they go back and create new ones, if their assumptions are validated they create rules and see if there are any exception to rules, then a combination of rules cover a good range of the reality they are trying to represent.
