The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) network in India is managed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). NPCI is an umbrella organization for operating retail payments and settlement systems in India. It was created with the guidance and support of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Indian Banks' Association (IBA). NPCI is responsible for managing and overseeing various payment systems in India, including UPI, IMPS (Immediate Payment Service), and other retail payment platforms.
